It's the reunion of LED ZEPPELIN with vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones, and sitting in for the late drummer John Bonham - his son Jason Bonham reuniting for a tribute concert for the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund on 12/10/07 in UK (postponed form original date of 11/26 due to Jimmy Page's hand injury). The Ahmet Education Fund is a charitable fund which is administered by The City Charity Trust in London to establish university educational grants and scholarships. Other featured artists include Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings with special guests Paolo Nutini, Pete Townsend and Foreigner.
LED ZEPPELIN releases new best of CD "Mothership" 11/13, and 11/20 "THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME" soundtrack CD with previously unreleased songs.
ROBERT PLANT and ALISON KRAUSS team up for a musical collaboration on the new CD "Raising Sand" produced by T-Bone Burnett, an album where the two express their admiration for some of the lesser known classics of the blues, folk, and R&B genres. THE KIN of Australia are raising funds and awareness about the crisis in Darfur on tour with their new CD "Rise and Fall" just released in stores nationwide. Vocalist Thorry Koren tells Rock for Learning, "We're on the road working on a new documentary called 'HAVE YOU HEARD OF DARFUR' to raise awareness of the crisis in Darfur. It's surprising how many people aren't aware." The Kin's goal is to raise funds to help Darfur and raise awareness in the community about the ongoing crisis.
